No. Jeff Cutter, CPA/PFS started his management firm because he believes that each investor is unique and no single investment company is right for everyone. However, Cutter Financial Group’s whole financial and retirement system is built on a foundation of managing downside risk first so the upside can take care of itself. Our clients cannot afford to go backward over a market cycle.
Many of the people who come to visit us already have a financial representative. We find that often, the representative who is currently employed does not specialize in designing and deploying sound retirement systems built on a philosophy of managing downside risk first.
We also find that many of these folks work for one particular financial company rather than for the client and prescribe to the outdated buy and hold accumulation strategy, rather than more sophisticated transition or distribution strategies. And unfortunately, in many cases, they do not work under a fiduciary standard. In contrast, Jeff & Jen are required to meet the fiduciary standard. This means that they must always put their clients’ needs first.
All financial professionals are not created equal. As a CPA, Jeff strives to handle demanding financial situations with both objectivity and integrity, utilizing his extensive knowledge. The PFS, or personal financial specialist, is a professional designation reserved for CPAs only and requires additional education, real-world experience, and extensive knowledge to pass a rigorous exam. Both of these designations must operate from a fiduciary standard.
Jeff graduated from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor of Science in marine engineering in 1989. After graduation, Jeff had a successful career as an officer in both the U.S. Merchant Marine and the U.S. Naval Reserves.
In 1993, Jeff received a sponsorship from KPMG Peat Marwick to attend the executive program at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. In 12 months, he graduated with distinction, earning both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in accounting.
Jeff began his financial and tax career in 1993 at KPMG Peat Marwick in both Providence, Rhode Island, and Boston, Massachusetts. He started Cutter Financial Group, LLC in 2006 and now has offices in Mansfield, Falmouth, and Duxbury, Massachusetts, and Southlake, Texas. Cutter Financial Group, LLC is an SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm.
Jen joined Cutter Financial Group, LLC with over 27 years of professional experience. Prior to joining Cutter Financial Group, she worked in a variety of companies, including the accounting offices of Brown Rudnick, Freed & Gesmer, companies such as Pfizer and Altana Pharmaceuticals, and most recently at Associates of Cape Cod, Inc.
Jen understands how to incorporate Cutter Financial’s retirement systems into the accumulation, transition, and distribution stages and why they must be very different for each stage of financial independence. Having the wrong financial system in the wrong stage can prove catastrophic to one’s financial independence.
Jen grew up in Pittsburgh before moving to Falmouth in 1991. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with a Bachelor of Science and earned her doctorate from Tulane University.
Jen is happily married and lives in Falmouth with her husband, Jeff, and three beautiful children.

This is YOUR hour; we will use it productively. This is a “working” hour where we will answer and address any questions you may have. By reviewing your information, Jeff and Jen will better understand your financial situation and concerns. Then we will help you design and deploy a sound financial system built on the bedrock philosophy that if you manage the downside, the upside can take care of itself. At the close of the hour, we will both decide if we should move to the next step.
